Spring Cleaning Your Health!

I’m sure most of the people reading this have already done their spring cleaning… wait, you haven’t?! Seriously, give us a call… Anyways, there’s probably some spring cleaning that you’re overlooking; spring cleaning for your body! Here are some things you should be considering to clean up your health.

Get a physical – Odds are your activity level will increase as summer starts to heat up. So it’s a good idea to go in for a simple physical so the doc can check the vitals, or check out any nagging issues.

Check medication interactions – With all that activity, there’s always the risk of dehydration, and increasing the time spent in direct sunlight. If you’re taking any medications, you should check with your doctor to make sure there aren’t any specific reactions to increased physical activity or time spent in the sun.

Get heart healthy –  If you’re not planning on increasing your physical activity that much as winter transitions into spring and summer, maybe you should. According to the America Heart Association, just 30 minutes of physical activity 5 days a week is all it takes. A study from the AHA shows that for every hour walking you could increase your life expectancy 2 hours.
