Pinatas, a Birthday, and A Helping Hand’s Anniversary
On the 1st of April 2010 the co-owner of A Helping Hand celebrated her birthday with a piñata thanks to our wonderful staff. Happy Birthday Kathy! This day also commemorates the 4th Anniversary of our business.
The SBA, Small Business Administration, states that 44% of all small business never make it to the 4th year of business and in the following 5th year 50% of those businesses will fail. So, in the first 5 years of business 95% of all small businesses will never see their 6th year of business.
That being said, I want to truly say THANK YOU to all of our clients and staff. It is because of you that we have success today. Thank you for supporting a local small business and investing your money in the local economy.
We look forward to more success in the near future and beyond.
Sincerely,
Scott Kindberg

America’s Icon in Cleaning Commits to Helping Women With Cancer Have a Clean Home
GLENWILLOW, OHIO–(Marketwire – March 15, 2010) – After keeping homes clean for more than 100 years, Hoover announced a new commitment to support the Cleaning For A Reason Foundation, the national organization devoted to helping women with cancer have clean homes. The nation’s leading home cleaning brand is teaming with Cleaning For A Reason to provide funding and equipment to cleaning crews across the country.
Cleaning For A Reason works with local cleaning services nationwide to provide free home cleaning for local women undergoing cancer treatments. Founded in 2005 with a few supporting cleaning services in Texas, the program is rapidly expanding and now covers most major markets, in all 50 states and four Canadian provinces.
“We focus on the home so women can focus on their health,” said Cleaning For A Reason founder Debbie Sardone. “With Hoover’s help, we can help even more women in communities across the country.”
Hoover will provide funding and equipment to facilitate local service partners, and will help the organization raise additional funding through special marketing campaigns to drive awareness and individual donations.
“We are an iconic brand with a wide reach and we are putting that power to work to help women when they need it the most,” said Brian Kirkendall, vice president of marketing for Hoover. “Having a clean home is one small way to help families, and we want to help. We are proud to partner with Cleaning For A Reason.”
Cleaning For A Reason recruits local maid services to provide professional cleaning at no cost to area cancer patient participants. Cancer patients apply for free service online, although currently demand is so high that applications are only accepted during a small window of time each day. Cleaning For A Reason connects applicants with local service partners to provide the free cleaning service, typically once a month for four months. Since its inception, the Foundation has been actively recruiting local cleaning services to help and the partnership with Hoover will help drive participation and support.
“With Hoover, we can further our commitment to providing the gift of a clean home to women with cancer,” added Sardone.

Live Clean. Live Better. Tip #2
Live Clean. Live Better. Tip #2
Tip #2. Remove 99% of the Bacteria In Your Home When Cleaning With Microfiber.
Microfiber Versus Cotton
What is microfiber and why does it out perform cotton?
Polyester and polyamide are very fine threads which create the high quality microfiber towels we use today. Described to be hundred times thinner than a single strand of human hair and ten times finer than silk; microfibers are extremely fine compared to that of a cotton strand. Polyester is a lyophillic polymer or has affinity to oil that allows oil to cling directly to the fibers fast. On the other hand, water also easily adheres to microfiber since it is hydrophilic. Microfiber works well in storing dirt and dust at the same time, absorbs water tremendously even up to seven times or 600% its weight in liquids, dirt and other elements. Dirt particles cling, and are attracted to the finely wedged shaped fibers of microfiber, where as a cotton towel only pushes dirt and dust from one place or another. Such great characteristics allow microfiber towels to quickly remove dirt and leave surfaces completely clean.
Microfiber out performs cotton because of its admirable polyester and polyamide fibers that are strong and ensure durability. It’s resistance to stretching and shrinking that guarantees shape retention. Other than that, it is also wrinkle, mildew, abrasion resistant due to its highly elasticity. Moreover, it is resistant to most chemicals, retains heat-set pleats and crease, and is easily washed even only with clear water or mild soapy water. In comparison to cotton, a microfiber will absorb 98% moisture, while cotton can only absorb at best 70%.
The use of a microfiber towel does not only ensure cleaning and absorbing efficiently, but is also environmentally friendly and hypoallergenic (safe for human and pet skin). For one, it breaks down and absorbs mud surfaces, two, it is reusable many times before washing, three, it is convenient and easy to clean with. Technically, microfiber can help reduce up to 90% of the consumption of cleaning materials in your home, most especially in the kitchen and bathrooms. Microfiber reduces your exposure to toxic fumes generated by too much chemical use as cleaning with microfiber requires no chemicals. Microfibers can eliminate your use of dangerous cleaning chemicals thus lowering if not ridding of allergies and chemical sensitivities. In all areas of your home, microfiber removes 99% of the bacteria from surfaces, edges and corners which will result into a cleaner and yes, healthier environment. Cotton towels require more effort when removing stubborn dirt and dust, they smears mud onto surface pores, they stay wet and breeds mold and mildew, they are bulky and hard to handle and finally require immediate cleaning after using.
Microfiber consists of very fine polyester and polyamide fibers that execute to be excellent dust and dirt eliminators, quick and effective absorbers, easy drying, environmentally friendly and ensure minimal usage of chemicals creating the ultimate, cost effective cleaning cloth. With microfiber you get rid with the typical bulky cotton towel which only pushes away dirt instead of ideally cleaning the surfaces. Say goodbye to stubborn household dirt, germs, dust and bacteria and try microfiber towels and mops today.
